Dunc:

Welcome to ICW. That's some wild looking guitar you have!

I think the serial number is indicating the a '92 date. The body has definitely been heavily modified, if it started out as some model of RG. So far, I haven't found any model with a monke...
Guitar identification required please :)
Hello everyone Smiley

I've had this for ages but have never known what it is?  The finish has a metallic flake in it but doesn't show up in the pic, it's actually quite good to play high up the fretboard with the cutout at the 24th fret lol!

I think the se...

    Coming Soon !

    Hey gang,

In the not to distant future, we will have here for all to view Captain Ibanez's Japan Domestic catalogues featuring a lot of Ibanez models that many of you have not seen before.

You will see models such as J Customs, 80's Custom Ledgends, RG Resoncast models and much much more!

    The years include 1995 Blazer, 1996,1998, 2003-4, 2006-7, 2008.

These catalogues can also be used as a reference for models that appeared in the European market of those years as well.

I hope these will be enjoyed by everyone.

Ya Ol' Cappy was very privilaged to get his hands on a "true classic" a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks to Tom ( Snowjays ) from ICW, came to Sydney for a holiday with his family. One very special piece of luggage was his much beloved Ibanez AR5000RE build # 15 of 80.

Tom is 1 of 2 people in Australia to have this gorgeous guitar. They both came from Matt's Music in the USA.

Playing the guitar was an absolute pleasure ! The quality of the guitar is superb. The active electronics are original spec with all those great tones that the original ones could produce. The feel of the neck is awsome....what more could I say....Wish I could add one to the collection!

Thanks again Tom for bringing your AR5000RE with you. There is a picture of this classic in Cappy Snaps.

    Hi there fellow Ibanez fans.

I just want to say a big thank you to all of you who came along to see ya O'l Cappy and Peter Northcote at Carlingford Music Centre on the 29th of October.

Thank you all for braving the crappy weather to be apart of a very "up close & personal" guitar clinic. It's not everyday you can go to a clinic and have guitars handed to you for inspection and have a 1 on 1 with the artists.

For those who could not make it, Peter was good enough to bring along a portion of his Ibanez collection for all to look at. Some of these included a "rare" Ibanez RG Green Serpent ( only 100 made ) & his Bob Weir 2681. I will post some pics of these soon.

Thank you to Lincoln from Australis Music for bringing on a heap of great Ibanez polo tops for give aways.

Finally, to Bill,Lyn,Ned & Martin from Carlingford Music Centre. Thank you so much for your time, effort & catering. Pete & I had a great time and hope we can be back at your store in the not too distant future for you and your customers

Carlingford Music Centre is located at 320 Pennant Hills Road Carlingford ( near Coleman Ave ). Their phone number is 02 9873-2333. Fantastic shop with a huge range of products....heaps of pianos as well !

I will get some pics and vid's of Pete weaving his magic up here soon.

Howdy Captain Ibanez! This is a true coincidence! You setup my Electic Acoustic a while back and I made your Captain Ibanez logo for you! Also, I now work for the company who makes Confluence (Atlassian) - the tool you're using for your wiki! I'm still buying guitars from Ibanez and my latest is the JTK30 (Turquoise). This wiki ROCKS! Awesome stuff!

Hi Captain, I have just found an old thread regarding Resoncast bodies. I am a new convert to Ibanez (Fender man for 30 years - where did I go wrong!!) with a DiMarzio loaded SA (mahogany) and a recently aquired RG390GXPL (resoncast). I would love to know what other people think about these 'synthetic' guitars.

    Hey cool site

I Love my Ibanez RG however, recently I changed the strings and my bridge ( which is a tremelo) looks out, up off the body more than normal like really off the body. Just wondering what I should do about it. It still works and all but it does not look right.

    Thanks.

Hi I was recommended to contact you by one of you satisfied customers/ members. He purchased a 1982 Ibanez MC150DS through you a while back. I saw him playing it on a gig and had the chance to play it myself. If you have any information on any of the Musician models from 1978 through 1982 I would be interested in picking one up.

Thank you for you time and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Best regards,

    Vincent
