Comments: The Ibanez literature of the period repeatedly states that the Model 2459 was made from "Ash". There is some disagreement within the community, however, as to whether these references meant North American Ash or whether they meant Japanese Sen which was erroneously called "Japanese Ash" because of the similarity in its color and grain to North American Ash.
Both woods - North American ash and Japanese sen - are very light colored with a light grain. The golden color was achieved by mixing a colored tint into a clear finish.
